For many years, Michael Habachy has been designing upscale modern and contemporary interiors and custom furniture for commercial and residential clients businesses and homes. Widely respected in his field, his work has appeared in magazines worldwide, and he's received several awards from the American Society of Interior Designers.
Michael first connected with Made in Monroe years ago through a mutual friend. With a passion for furniture design, Michael was intrigued to learn that Made in Monroe owner Scott Dilly was crafting furniture from reclaimed bowling alleys. "I was excited to find a team working with reclaimed materials and with such versatile skills. Since then, we've collaborated on many projects, including those for my personal home," Michael explains.
While Habachy Designs collaborates with a variety of fabricators and craftsmen, they consistently rely on Made in Monroe for projects involving expertise in solid wood and steel. According to Michael, "We always want to work with the best makers to deliver the best work for our clients. We love working in natural materials with natural/organic finishes that are sustainable. For example, we’d rather do a wax finish on wood than a lacquer finish. We prefer not to paint our metal but instead use a patina with a more natural finish that’s designed to last. I’d say our style is organic modern and Scott nails that every time."
