El Viñedo Local, meaning “the local vineyard,” attracts guests with South American-inspired small pates, wines and coffees, to their restaurant on Atlanta’s iconic Peachtree Street in Midtown. Embracing sustainability and authenticity, their coffees are exclusively sourced from South American farmers, adhering to 100% organic and fair-trade standards. Similarly, their wine selection predominantly features offerings from South American producers dedicated to sustainable and organic practices. Their commitment to preserving traditional culinary methods shines through in every dish, delivering South American cuisine that is both authentic and contemporary. Even the empanada dough is imported from Argentina, ensuring an experience true to its roots.

With El Viñedo Local's unwavering dedication to natural ingredients and sustainable practices, coupled with their penchant for collaborating with local artisans, it comes as no surprise that their interior design firm, Habachy Designs, selected Made in Monroe to meticulously handcraft their vision for this intimate setting. Made in Monroe created the custom bar with a distinctive metal and leather wine rack with capacity for 100+ bottles, a banquette, cabinetry with frosted glass for concealed storage, as well as unique metal signage to brand the exterior and interior for the space.

“The custom bar is hugely important for us. Our restaurant is small with windows on three sides of the space so the wall with the bar serves as the visual centerpiece. Habachy Designs had to design a solution that would really maximize the limited space to meet our needs.” The team looked at a wide variety of wine rack designs, and worked together to create a distinctive metal and leather wine sling concept. Made in Monroe crafted prototypes to evaluate the design concept, enhancing the team's confidence in their final decision before initiating production. “The level of design detail for the bar was extremely important in creating the ambience for a memorable customer experience.”

Quality was important for this project too, encompassing precision in measurements to optimize space and functionality within the design, as well as ensuring the durability of materials in this high-traffic environment, capable of withstanding harsh cleaning products. “We wanted something that would last a long time and be easy to maintain. Knock on wood, we’re three years in and it’s been trouble-free.”

Robert shares, “The fact that we have something that’s one-of-a-kind is a cool story we can share and it feels good to support a local maker. We’ve been extremely happy with Made in Monroe. We get a lot of positive comments on the space from our guests. Their work definitely helps create the atmosphere that we hoped to achieve.”
